British Council: live in 26 countries, 24 languages
The British Council now has live sites in 26 countries, translated into 24 languages. Its new student and parent portal is live around the world, and ToolTwist is proud to have helped build the platform behind it.

A global rollout
The British Council is a global organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, running a network of more than 100 teaching centres across over 50 countries. To manage that worldwide student body it partnered with Tribal Group to deploy Tribal Campus, a next-generation, cloud-based student management system.
The goal was to unify a sprawling, decentralised operation onto a single modern platform — replacing a patchwork of legacy systems and manual spreadsheets, standardising how students find, book, and pay for courses, and giving management one real-time view across the whole network. The portal you see here is the customer-facing front of that transformation, now serving students and parents in their own language, country by country.
ToolTwist's contribution
ToolTwist provided core development and quality assurance to accelerate delivery of the Tribal Campus platform for the British Council.
- Our developers built components of the application across both the user-facing interface and the underlying business logic, helping deliver a seamless experience for students and administrators.
- Our testers were deeply involved in ensuring the reliability and quality of the application — essential work for a platform deployed globally and serving hundreds of thousands of users.
Reaching 26 countries and 24 languages is exactly the kind of scale that punishes shortcuts. Getting there meant the engineering and the QA had to hold up under real, worldwide load.
