We just launched our very own Agile Fundamentals course—and yes, it is officially accredited by ICAgile!

Crafting our own training program turned into far more than just a project; it became an enlightening journey of discovery and growth. We built upon our previously established and already effective Agile and Scrum course, but aligning it with ICAgile’s rigorous course guidelines elevated it to a new standard. Rather than settling for generic material, we embarked on a process of deep reflection, dissecting the "why" behind our methods to ensure our curriculum mirrors the authentic, lived experience of modern software development.

This deep dive into our own practices and the global standards of Agile didn't just yield a course—it refined our understanding, challenged our assumptions, and ultimately reshaped how we view our craft.

The Road to Accreditation

  • March 2018: A colleague initiated the framework and objectives for our internal training materials, laying the foundation we would eventually build upon.
  • February 2023: Our president expressed a keen interest in securing formal accreditation, marking a turning point in our strategy from internal training to professional certification.
  • September 2024: We officially engaged with ICAgile, securing their Course Evaluation Matrices and doing the heavy lifting of expanding our heavily Scrum-centric content into a broader, Agile-focused curriculum.
  • October 2024 - February 2025: Guided by feedback from ICAgile members, our team designed fresh materials and interactive sessions to address their stringent requirements.
  • March 2025: Following a final review of our revisions, we officially achieved full ICAgile accreditation.

The Crowning Achievement: Empowering Our Own Instructors

Achieving instructor authorization was the crowning achievement of our accreditation journey. For Robert and Raymond, this wasn't simply a validation of their deep Agile knowledge—it was a rigorous, enlightening experience that challenged them to refine their approach to having deeper learnings about Agile practices and mentorship.

Having our own accredited instructors officially changes the game for us. We’re already seeing the impact as we roll the course out in our Training Hall, filling the room with the energy of shared learning. This journey, paralleling the accreditation of the course itself, proved incredibly rewarding—transforming our internal capability and fostering a culture of continuous growth. It is profoundly fulfilling to realize that we are no longer just participating in Agile, but cultivating our own certified experts right here at ToolTwist.
